Luis Enrique Gutierrez at 25 years old has 16 years of tutelage under the three generations of his family.  Over the years Luis has separated himself as a master artisan by developing his own distinct style born out of his love of geometry.

His contemporary style still has technical roots in his Nicoya Indian heritage.  As his work and cultural knowledge evolve a further blending of old and new develop.

Over the past two years Luis has taken advantage of trip to the US to represent he and his families work to elevate his results.  His newest sculptures are examples of a young artist merging his life experience with his family taught craft.
